Here are some of my favourite shots from Abby and Tim's winter wedding I shot recently. I am blogging out of order - I actually photographed Tim's brother Matt's wedding earlier this year so I promise I'll post that one next! Abby and Tim were married in the beautiful St. Thomas Aquinas' Church in South Yarra in June. It didn't matter that it was right in the middle of winter, on the shortest day of the year. This can scare photographers as there's only a short amount of daylight at that time of year. But we ventured into the city and made use of the beautiful city lights, and I'm thrilled with the results. I'm not afraid of the dark anymore! (shooting in it). The reception was held at Comme, a venue known for it's amazing food (I still reminisce about the beautiful meal I ate that night!). Abby wore a Collette Dinnigan gown (stunning!) and flowers were by the always awesome Pash Flowers.
Abby filled the day with beautiful, personal touches. My favourite being the framed wedding portraits of their parents and grandparents. This is something I see at a lot of weddings, and it gives me hope that what I do has meaning and will one day be appreciated by future generations. I always hope I can capture just a couple of super dorky portraits that my clients' children can giggle at in decades to come.
Enjoy these shots, and thank you Abby and Tim - it was truly an honour to be in amongst the big celebration of love that was your wedding xo
