I’ve been shooting professionally for 11 years, but it took me a little while to discover the world of weddings. I have a degree in photography from RMIT University, and many years’ experience in fashion, music and comedy publicity. After finishing university, I hopped on a plane and assisted several iconic photographers in New York City (cross that dream off my bucket list!), before returning home to work for myself.
I had a preconceived notion of what weddings were, until really great people started asking me to photograph theirs, and a fulfilling new door opened up for me. I discovered that weddings are joyful, personal reflections of a couple’s unique story. I love showing this in my photographs.
Now 7 years on I am still in love with this. Being part of the biggest day of people’s lives is a pretty good way to spend a day, and it’s a job I never take lightly. To do this job well you need excellent technical ability and experience, a creative eye, and above all, people skills. I feel so lucky to have found my dream career.
I take on a “sensible” number of weddings each year, so that I can keep my quality of work at the highest standard. If you’d like to chat about having me there on your big day, please get in touch. I’d love to hear your story.
